We have been supporting the ratiopharm ulm basketball team since 2016 not only as a fan, but also in the areas of website, backend, match statistics and apps as a reliable and long-standing service provider and supporter/sponsor. We create interactive solutions and try to transport the atmosphere from the arena into the digital world.

About ratiopharm ulm and BBU’01

The German champions of 2023 in the 1st Basketball Bundesliga and the BBU’01 e.V. club have made a name for themselves in Ulm, throughout Germany and internationally since 2001. From promotion to the first Bundesliga, the construction of the ratiopharm Arena and the Orange Campus to the championship, the club has become an integral part of German basketball.

Concept & Design

Together with the association, we developed the concept and design for the relaunch of the website in 2016. With a focus on a timeless design that reflects the association, modern features, extensive statistics and a modular structure, the website has been continuously developed to this day and is a recognized reference in the industry.

Backend

A backend was developed for the employees at ratiopharm ulm to manage the statistics, news and media on the website, with which all aspects of the project can be processed.

The backend also provides a comprehensive insight into the match statistics from previous years.

Statistics

Extensive statistics traditionally play a major role in basketball. On the website and fed by our extensive statistics database, we show detailed and animated statistics for every game and every player and also compare them with reference values such as the opposing team.

We have also supported the club as a sponsor since 2016 and are delighted to have a long-standing partnership at both ends.

Live ticker

Want to experience the game live, even if you can’t be in the arena? With the live ticker, we have developed a component that brings the game to your home screen as realistically as possible: real-time updates of results, top scorers, box scores, play-by-plays and much more.

Responsive (optimized for all devices)

Over 80% of visitors to ratiopharmulm.com open the site using a smartphone or tablet. It is therefore particularly important to offer an optimal experience even for these small display widths. All pages are therefore graphically optimized and adapt dynamically to the different display sizes.

API of the BBL and the Eurocup

All statistics, fixtures and player data are retrieved directly via the BBL (Basketball Bundesliga) and Eurocup interfaces. This means that all results are always available to fans on the website, even to the second in the case of the live ticker.

In addition, all data from all of the club’s seasons is temporarily stored with us to ensure high-performance and fail-safe delivery of the data at all times.
