About our projects

LoRaPark visualizations

In 2020, CORTEX worked with citysens GmbH and the city of Ulm to develop the LoRaPark in the heart of Ulm, a show garden for sensor-based solutions. A visualization was developed on an 85″ display that presents the collected data in an appealing and simple way.

About the LoRaPark

The LoRaPark in Ulm brings the Internet of Things and LoRaWAN to life around the Weinhof and makes it accessible to everyone. The show garden for sensor-based solutions was realized at the Weinhof and offers illustrative application examples for the Internet of Things. Here you can experience how sensors and the measured values obtained from them can be used profitably.

Concept & Design

The focus of the visualization was an appealing, simple and understandable communication of the collected data. Complex measured values are put into context and enriched with texts, images and diagrams to create a coherent overall picture.

Each application was presented on a display page. The individual pages change in a continuous loop based on time.

Sensor data explained simply

Instead of raw data, tabular values and boring pure figures, the measured values are presented with diagrams and a position map within the park. With a mixture of line and bar charts as well as current values, this results in an understandable but also detailed view of the measured values of the environmental sensors.

The LoRaPark is to become a place of encounter and learning, which will vividly demonstrate the digital possibilities of the future city of Ulm to citizens of all generations.
